Our Church mission projects
are on-going proof that the congregation is made up of loving and
caring people.
Many Committees are
involved in and committed to, different mission projects.
Our Church is a member
of the El Salvador Partnership. Salvadoran needs are many, including
over-the-counter medications, school supplies, toiletries, light-weight
clothing and children's shoes. The congregation as a whole, and
the Children's Work Committee (Sunday Church School and Vacation
Bible School) each contributed to this project this year. Members
of our own congregation join others in traveling down to El Salvador
to lend a helping hand.
Presbyterian Women support
Church World Service. Circle members sew bags to hold school supplies
and provide toiletries for the Health Kits - all items are donated
by the congregation. Blanket Sunday is held in January to make people
aware of the immense value of a $5 blanket to people in world-wide
crises. Last year $2185 (that's 437 blankets!) was donated to CWS
for their worthy endeavor. Members of PW and women of the congregation
were busy this past year knitting and crocheting 17 afghans, 21
hats (both children and adult sizes) and 19 baby caps which were
sent to the Olcott Agri-Business Child Development in Appleton,
New York.
These "hands-on" mission
projects are complimented by generous monetary contributions to
Bread for the World, One Great Hour of Sharing, Peacemaking, UNICEF,
Heifer International Project and other special offerings.
