The Liaison Committee was formed by an act of Session on November 20, 2001. The continuing purpose of the committee is to:
- Provide on-going, formal and informal communication with Nanume Presbyterian Church to address the needs of both congregations and to keep each other informed of ongoing dates of activities for coordination and other needs.
- Provide regular review of the terms of the contract to make recommendations for change to Session.
- Provide a monthly status report to Session through the Session Elder.
The Nanume congregation's refrigerator was incorporated into our kitchen to allow for more space in the Minister's study.
Bulletin Boards were placed on the Choir Robe room doors in the hallway to better communicate with the Nanume Congregation.
The Committee meets monthly and the terms of our contract was reviewed on December 14th and January 18th. The monthly rental will increase 5% in 2007.
It is with great pleasure that we have seen this landlord-tenant relationship grow to be one of neighbors working together to grow the Presbyterian Church in our Community and to further service the needs of many students at the Stony Brook University Campus.
